Overview

In populations that require compassion, the coronavirus pandemic has pushed many caregivers to the limit.  Levels of compassion fatigue, the secondary traumatic stress syndrome, are off the charts. The time to jump start the recovery process and facilitate a return to a baseline of wellness is now.  Please join us for a one hour webinar where we will learn how to translate self-care recovery strategies into action at individual, management and organizational levels.

At the end of the webinar, the participant should be able to:

  1. Define compassion fatigue
  2. Understand the parameters of caregiver recovery
  3. Recognize the 5 stages of recovery in themselves & others
  4. Create a Personal Self-Care Recovery Plan
  5. Translate recovery strategies into action

Patricia Smith

Patricia Smith is a certified Compassion Fatigue Specialist with 20 years of training experience. As founder of the Compassion Fatigue Awareness Project© (www.compassionfatigue.org), she writes, speaks and facilities workshops nationally and internationally in service of those who care for others. She presented a TEDx talk entitled: Navigating the Path to WellnessCompassion Fatigue in Caregiving, and has authored several books including the award-winning To Weep for a Stranger: Compassion Fatigue in Caregiving. Her latest book Stress, Compassion Fatigue and Burnout Handling in Veterinary Practice will be available mid-June.
