Or when claims and suits mature, will memories be clouded regarding the extraordinary circumstances under which care was given in the pandemic? In this one hour presentation, attorneys Bryan Reid and Lann McIntyre will discuss the current landscape of COVID-19 litigation and risk mitigation for the uncharted territory of future legal actions in healthcare related COVID-19 cases.
Learning Objectives

Lann G. McIntyre is a partner in the San Diego office of Lewis Brisbois and a vice-chair of the Appellate Practice group. Ms. McIntyre has over 35 years of experience first as a civil litigator and then as an appellate specialist. Ms. McIntyre represents both public and private clients in civil writs, appeals and mandate proceedings. She has briefed and argued cases in the Ninth Circuit and every appellate court in California.
Her experience includes representing municipalities, cities, counties and other public entities in writs and appeals. She has also represented corporate and individual clients in a wide range of substantive areas of law including healthcare, elder abuse, employment, personal injury, government claims, anti-SLAPP, police excessive force, attorney professional negligence, and family law.
In addition to appellate briefing and oral argument, Ms. McIntyre has acted as embedded appellate counsel during trial and has extensive experience in working with trial lawyers to achieve success and preserve the record before, during, and after trial through dispositive motions, trial briefing, in limine motions, and post-trial motion work. Ms. McIntyre is certified by The State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization as a specialist in appellate law and is one of 36 attorneys certified as a specialist in San Diego County.
Bryan Reid is a partner in the San Bernardino office of Lewis Brisbois and a member of the Long-Term Care & Elder Law Practice. Mr. Reid’s civil trial practice focuses on the defense of nursing homes, assisted living facilities, physicians, hospitals, and other healthcare and long-term care professionals and organizations. He also has experience litigating cases in the field of sports and recreation liability having represented some of the most well known names in professional sports. He has extensive experience handling matters involving:

He has recognized expertise in all aspects of nursing home and medical malpractice litigation with a strong reputation for obtaining successful results for his clients through law and motion, mediation, arbitration and trial. Mr. Reid serves as national monitoring counsel for a leading insurance carrier providing advice, guidance and expertise on high exposure, long-term care cases. He has obtained defense victories and successful resolution of high-profile cases involving injury and death of professional athletes.
