Risk Management Role with Underwriting Services
Risk Management plays a significant role in the underwriting process. Underwriting views the Risk Management consultants as the eyes and ears for Underwriting Services, and holds Risk Management Services accountable for providing timely and accurate information on each CHI insured.
Risk Management Consultants are required to provide Underwriting Services a detailed report, 90 days prior to renewal of a policy, outlining actions taken by the client and CHI the past year to mitigate the facility’s exposures, and identifying the current highest exposures for the clients. Along with the client’s claims activities and other factors, compliance with risk advisories and recommendations, and completion of corrective action plans following surveys are taken into consideration during the underwriting process.
